Water Recycling and Ecological Restoration: Showcasing Environmental Sustainability Practices

BenQ Materials has integrated environmental sustainability into its manufacturing operations through water recycling systems, green manufacturing design, environmental management, and ecological restoration initiatives, balancing production needs with environmental stewardship.

  • Water Resource Recycling

As water resources are essential to both pulp and material manufacturing, water recycling was a key topic of exchange during the visit. BenQ Materials shared its practices in reclaimed water recycling, rainwater collection, and smart water management. Through biofilm-based reclaimed water technology and a Tubular MBR system, the company improves water recycling efficiency while reducing sludge generation and treatment costs. In 2025, the water reuse rate reached 96.7%, with each drop of water reused an average of 15 times.

  • Environmental Management and Green Innovation

The Yunlin site showcased initiatives including the Plant 1 Vertical Forest concept, the use of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF), and environmental management practices that support responsible manufacturing.

  • Biodiversity Conservation

The Green Ecological Restoration Park features more than 4,000 trees of various species, creating habitats for diverse wildlife, including bees, rhinoceros beetles, ladybugs, and the protected Zhuluo Tree Frog. Ongoing habitat restoration demonstrates how manufacturing and biodiversity conservation can coexist.
